This is a gentle modality that involves working with the body’s connective tissue (tissue that surrounds muscles and tendons) to stretch and relieve muscular tension. This technique is very slow but effective in relieving stiffness and tension at a greater depth without the pressure and tools used in a deep tissue massage. Myofascial release is great for people with a low pain threshold, ligament and tendon problems, muscle spasms, scar tissue, postural problems or fibromyalgia.
