The benefits of sports massage have been proven to optimize performance, create faster recovery, increase function during training, and prevent injury. Sports massage techniques can be implemented into any massage and anyone can benefit from this type of therapeutic bodywork.  Results are achieved by improving blood and lymph circulation, breaking down adhesions or knots, increasing range of motion, and lengthening muscles and tendons.

There are 4 types of sports massage. Pre-event is utilized prior to an event within 2 hours to help stimulate and prepare muscles that are specific to the sport or activity. Post-event is utilized shortly after an event to help normalize the body. Maintenance massage improves function during training periods. Rehabilitative therapy is recommended to alleviate pain as well as speed recovery from injury.  Relaxation, relief from muscle soreness and pain, stress release, and injury rehabilitation can all be accomplished regardless of your activity level.
